Wadin' through the waste stormy winter,
And there's not a friend to help you through.
Tryin' to stop the waves behind your eyeballs,
Drop your reds, drop your greens and blues.
Thank you for your wine, California,
Thank you for your sweet and bitter fruits.
Yes I got the desert in my toenail
And I hid the speed inside my shoe.
But come on, come on down Sweet Virginia,
Come on, honey child, I beg you.
Come on, come on down, you got it in ya.
Got to scrape the shit right off you shoes.

I once hoped and still intend to post more on the diverse eating and drinking that can be found in Detroit. For now I'm just working too much. Just wait 'til the summer ...
Random notes:
2004 Rodelsberg was featured at the first Detroit Clandes-dine dinner. It accompanied roasted pork tenderloin with braised cabbage and apple cider glaze. The distributor - Little Guy - has a couple of cases left, and now to deplete stocks entirely it has slashed the price. This biodynamic, unfiltered, naturally fermented liquid is an exemplary Alsatian wine and it will pair well with a variety of foods, but especially fried pig’s head mustard-sauce gribiche at Grange, city chicken at Polonia, or 'Ocean Confetti' at Mon Jin Lau.

I was taught a new Spanish word today - "barbero." Or maybe it should be spelled with "v"s instead of "b"s. The word describes a quality to avoid for a good server. It mean's "kiss ass" or "suck up" or "teacher's pet."
I asked if the term had any vulgar connotations. Apparently not.
It may derive in some way from the word for "barber."
